Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté onion 3-4 minutes until soft. Add garlic, cook 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  4. Add chicken, sautéed onions and garlic, frozen vegetables, and all seasonings. Stir well.
  5. Fold in 1½ cups cheddar and all mozzarella cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  6. Spread mixture evenly in prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup cheddar over top.
  7. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the entire surface.
  8. Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20-25 minutes more until tots are golden and crispy.
  9. Optional: Add extra cheese during last 5 minutes of baking.
  10. Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
